Potentially Genius ideas become Potentially Genius things with New York City-based innovation studio, Tomorrow Lab.
During COVID, while producing the web series, The Teardown, for product design firm, Tomorrow Lab, the leading the electronics distributor, DigiKey, approached the team about creating an original series for their YouTube channel which could highlight their products in a novel way.
Andrew created and pitched a few concepts, but there was really only one option: Potentially Genius.
The premise was simple, bring a guest on with a product idea that was likely not a money maker but they would like to see in the world and Tomorrow Lab would make a functional prototype, in a limited amount of time. Documenting their process and logic in the show. And be something we could produce remotely, given the COVID shut down.

DigiKey loved the idea and we were off and running. Now in production for five years, the show continues to illuminate the fascinating process of product development.
The team has made electronic brakes for roller blades, an Ozone Sensor, a food bowl for cats that would shut when dogs approached, a color bottle cap sorter for small scale recycling, and a bunch of other silliness. Though they never made a prototype for Andrew's concept, the Yacht Drone.
